Miso katsu

Miso-katsu ( Japanese 味噌 カ ツ , literally: miso-schnitzel) is a Japanese schnitzel dish ( tonkatsu ) with miso sauce . Miso-katsu is particularly popular in and around Nagoya as well as in the south of Gifu Prefecture and in the northeast of Mie Prefecture and is known as one of the Nagoya dishes (Japanese 名古屋 め し , Nagoya-meshi ).

The basic dish is usually a Tonkatsu -Teishoku ( 定 食 ), i. H. a composed menu with sliced pork schnitzel, strips of white cabbage, rice and miso soup. A specialty of Miso-katsu, however, is a thick, spicy sweet miso sauce based on Hatchō-miso (Hatchō-Miso ( 八 丁 味噌 ) denotes a black or dark type of miso, which is mainly used in the Aichi prefecture ). Miso-katsu can also be in the form of donburi , i.e. H. as a topping on a bowl of rice.
