Misrachi

Misrachi ( mizˈʀaχi , Ivrit המזרחי HaMizrachi , acronym for Merkaz Ruhani, d. H. "Religious Center", or Misrach "East") is an Orthodox - Zionist movement. It was founded on March 5, 1902 in Vilnius by Rabbi Isaac Jacob Reines (1839-1915).

There are national misrachi organizations in German-speaking countries in Munich , Vienna and Zurich . Misrachi Vienna is based in the Misrachi House on Judenplatz. Founded in Jerusalem in 1929 , Bne Akiwa is Misrachi's youth organization .

Misrachi is not to be confused with Misrachim , the Hebrew term for oriental Jews.
