The Missionaries Servants of the Poor of the Third World ( Order abbreviation: MSPTM; Latin : Opus Christi Salvatoris Mundi , Spanish Misioneros Siervos de los Pobres del Tercer Mundo ) is an international spiritual community .

history

Giovanni Salerno (Italian priest and missionary doctor) founded the community in 1986 as a church missionary movement, which is primarily concerned with the social and spiritual education of poor and abandoned children of the Third World , as well as the evangelism of poor regions. They are currently active in Latin America ( Peru , Cuba and Mexico ) and Hungary .

The movement consists of four different communities (priests / consecrated brothers, religious sisters, contemplative priests / brothers and missionary families). More than 150 missionary servants of the poor from 18 different countries serve more than 1500 children every day in different schools, soup kitchens, health care centers and professional workshops.
