Missus Beastly was a German underground or jazz rock band, which is also assigned to Krautrock .

Missus Beastly was founded in Herford in 1968 as a blues rock- oriented group and developed into one of the German psychedelic bands. In 1970 a first self-produced LP was released, in which Chris Karrer , Dieter Serfas and Hansi Fischer were also involved. After extensive touring, the band broke up in 1971 due to financial problems.

At the end of 1973 Lutz Oldemeier re-founded the band together with the flutist Friedemann Josch, the saxophonist Jürgen Benz, the pianist Dieter Miekautsch (previously with Embryo ) and the bassist Norbert Dömling . The following year the group recorded an LP of the same name for Venus / Nova. Butze Fischer came for Oldemeier and the Würzburg keyboardist and composer Burkard Schmidl for Miekautsch . In 1976 Missus Beastly founded the musician cooperative April together with Ton Steine Scherben und Embryo , from which the self-managed distribution company Schneeball emerged. The band played the LP Dr. Aftershave and the Mixed Pickles . The line-up changed frequently. The constants were Friedemann Josch and Burkard Schmidl, from whom the majority of the compositions came. In 1978 the LP "Spaceguerilla" was created. In autumn 1979 they parted ways: Schmidl continued to play in a trio with drummer Marlon Klein and bassist Norbert Dömling, who had been brought back into the band - for a while under the pseudonym Dr. Aftershave - again under the name Missus Beastly from 1980 . In 1982 the band split up for good (last line-up: Burkard Schmidl, keyboards, Marlon Klein, drums, and Matthias Krüger, bass).
