from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Misthaufen is the name of an Austrian band from Austropop .

The band

The group consisted of Alf Krauliz (vocals, guitar), Momo Klambauer (melody guitar, bouzouki) and Peter Siderits (bass, bongos). The lead singer was temporarily called Harald Hofbauer . The piano was played in turn by Kari Bras and Peter Janda (piano, organ, synthesizer) and Artur Lauber. Hardi Ganslmaier was on the drums and Harald Prögelhöf was in charge of the sound engineering. In the beginning, the group also included Rudy Bliem (guitar, singing saw), Elk Kuczewski (violin), and Wolf Eyb (concert guitar, flute and violin).

The band has been back on stage since 2015. With “Dungheap - an Odyssey”, Krauliz has put together a new ensemble and with them created a text and music collage from old hits and contemporary ideas about the future. Members are Alf Krauliz (vocals, guitar), Scharmien Zandi (vocals, guitar), Martin Schuster (piano, vocals), Wolfgang Ableidinger (guitar), Peter Haumer (bass), Aline Kunisch (voice) and Livia Heiß (voice).

Jokes , Naschmarkt and the arena

In their musical Schabernack , the group attacked local politics in Vienna : There were plans to sacrifice Vienna's Naschmarkt to a motorway .

At the last performance of the musical, on June 27, 1976 in the Wiener Festwochen- Spielstätte Arena , a group of architecture students distributed leaflets with the slogan “The slaughterhouse must not die” and the audience was asked to stay. Together with the demonstrators of the parallel "Festival against the razing of the Naschmarkt" with the butterflies ( Willi Resetarits , Beatrix Neundlinger and others) and the Keif group , who asked the visitors to move to the arena after their performances, that was the trigger for the three Months of occupation of the arena.
