With God for King and Fatherland is one of Friedrich Wilhelm III's motto . The badge donated in 1813 , the Landwehr Cross . The metal cross with this slogan was sewn onto the hats of the Prussian Landwehr soldiers . It can also be found on different versions of helmets and crosses of honor.
