The mitp Publishing GmbH & Co. KG is a German specialist publisher with a focus on marketing , information technology and photography . The publishing program is aimed at beginners, advanced users and professionals in the respective subject area. The publishing house is based in Frechen near Cologne .
The publishing program of the mitp-Verlag is divided into the areas IT & Web , Business & Marketing and Photography & Graphics . It includes books on programming , software development , networks, certification , Minecraft , Maker, audio, sketchnotes , online marketing and photography , among other things .
Mitp-Verlag was founded on August 1, 2014 as part of a management buyout by Steffen Dralle. Before that, the two specialist book brands mitp and bhv belonged to the Hüthig Jehle Rehm publishing group . The publishing brand mitp was created back in 1998 and initially relocated the series Für Dummies , “Ge-packt” and “Crash Test”. In 1999 the series "... for Kids" was added, which addresses IT topics to young readers. In 2005 the publisher cooperated with the magazine ProfiFoto and developed the series mitp Edition ProfiFoto . In 2012 another cooperation with the magazine Foto Hits followed and the photo book series mitp Edition FotoHits was created , which is aimed more at ambitious beginners.
Currently around 70 titles are published each year by authors such as Daniel Braun , Mike Rohde, Robert Kneschke, Michael Freeman, Robert C. Martin , Michael Weigend and Alexander Beck.
