The Mitsubishi Aircraft Corporation ( Japanese 三菱航空機株式会社 , Mitsubishi Kokuki Kabushiki Kaisha ) is a Japanese aircraft manufacturer , the 64% Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (Jap. 三菱重工業 Mitsubishi Jukogyo ), with 10% of the Mitsubishi Corporation and Toyota , and to 5 per % Owned by Sumitomo and Mitsui .

The company was founded in 2008 with headquarters in Nagoya , Aichi Prefecture , and is involved in the development of the Mitsubishi SpaceJet (until June 2019 "Mitsubishi Regional Jet", "MRJ" for short), a regional aircraft for 70 to 96 passengers. It has offices in Tokyo , Moses Lake and Boisbriand .

Predecessor company 1928–1934

Not to be confused with the Mitsubishi Kōkūki (English Mitsubishi Aircraft Company ) from 1928, which mainly produced aircraft for the Japanese armed forces. It merged in 1934 with Mitsubishi Zōsen (English Mitsubishi Shipbuilding ) to Mitsubishi Jūkōgyō ( Mitsubishi Heavy Industries ).
