Mitsui Rail Capital
Mitsui Rail Capital (MRC) is a rail finance company of the Japanese Mitsui Group ( Mitsui & Co., Ltd. ). The main activities are the financing and rental (or leasing ) of rail freight cars and locomotives.
United States
Mitsui Rail Capital, LLC (MRC) was established in June 1996 in USA in the State of Illinois founded and has business offices in Chicago (Illinois) and Des Moines ( Iowa ).
Unitrain , which specializes in coal transports, was taken over by MRC in 1997. The main activity since then has been the leasing business with freight wagons, with a focus on coal transport wagons. In addition, MRC is also active in the management and maintenance of freight wagon fleets.
Latin America
Mitsui Rail Capital Latin America (MRCLA) was founded in November 2004 in São Paulo , Brazil .
MRCLA's area of activity is the rental of freight wagons, especially for ore and agricultural products. It is also intended to purchase logistics centers, especially ports and transhipment centers in Germany.
MRCLA's main customers are the three freight transport companies Companhia Vale do Rio Doce Group , ALL Group and Brasil Ferrovias Group , which were established after the Brazilian rail freight company was privatized in 1997 .
Europe
Mitsui Rail Capital Europe BV (MRCE) was founded in October 2004 in Amsterdam , the Netherlands , as a joint subsidiary of Mitsui & Co., Ltd. (Japan) and Mitsui & Co. Europe plc. ( United Kingdom ) established.
As part of the expansion, Siemens Dispolok GmbH (Munich) was acquired in September 2006 . By resolution of the shareholders' meeting on January 24, 2008, the company was renamed MRCE Dispolok GmbH. The integration was completed on April 1, 2008, when MRCE took over all shares in the subsidiary. This is also expressed externally by repainting the locomotives in the company's black color. The head office in Amsterdam coordinates sales and production, the leasing business has been operated by the subsidiary MRCE Dispolok since 2008. From March 2013, the former MRCE Dispolok will operate under the name MRCE GmbH.
