Onny Parun , OBE (born April 15, 1947 in Wellington ) is a retired New Zealand tennis player .
Career
Between 1974 and 1980 he won five singles and two doubles titles in his career . In the final of the Australian Open 1973 he played against John Newcombe , but lost to him in four sets with 3: 6, 7: 6, 5: 7 and 1: 6. Parun won the doubles competition at the 1974 French Open with the Australian Dick Crealy against the Americans Stan Smith and Bob Lutz in five sets with 6: 3, 6: 2, 3: 6, 5: 7 and 6: 1.
His brother Tony also played tennis, as did his sons Anthony and Bernard , but under the German flag.
