Central European Police Academy

The Central European Police Academy , MEPA for short , is a jointly supported educational institution for basic and advanced training for police officers that extends beyond the borders of the EU . The training is aimed at executives in middle police management or at civil servants who have completed their training as a senior service and have several years of relevant professional experience. In addition to the European Police Academy (CEPOL), it is another multinational police training facility.

MEPA was founded in 1992/1993. On May 22, 2001, with the signing of the "Joint Declaration", the legal basis of the MEPA was created. This regulates the organization and activities of the MEPA.

  • Mediation, expansion and deepening for police and detectives ,
  • Conveying legal and organizational conditions, practical possibilities and forms of international police cooperation in the MEPA member countries,
  • Conveying social, economic and political background knowledge (especially organized crime , economic and environmental crime ),
  • Establishing, expanding and maintaining personal contacts,
  • Reduction of communication and understanding problems and prejudices,
  • Training and socialization tasks as well as training in analytical thinking,
  • Strengthening social and communicative competencies and management skills,
  • Contribution to the European integration process, harmonization of contradicting interests of the participating countries.
