In the middle was a village in the district of Lindau in Bavaria and a district of the rural community of the same name, the later municipality of Wasserburg a.Bodensee , now Wasserburg (Lake Constance) .

The Lindenplatz in today Wasserburg was approximately centrally in the former village street, the eastern part of today village street is called and the western part is now a piece of the peninsula road .

history

Until 1926, the village of Mitten was the main town of the rural community of the same name , which was officially renamed Wasserburg am Bodensee on March 23, 1926.

In 1900 the community consisted of Bichel , Mitten, Mooslachen , Mühle , Reutenen , Schwand and Wasserburg, had 614 inhabitants, 367 of them in the village of Mitten. In the 1925 census, the population of Mitten, together with Mooslachen, was 592, with 800 inhabitants in the municipality. At that time there were the municipal parts of Bichel, Mitte, Reutinen, Schwand, Wasserburg a.Bodensee. Mill and Mooslachen were no longer part of the community. In the register of places from 1950, Mitten is no longer listed as a district.
