Mnestra (daughter of Danaos)
Mnestra ( ancient Greek Μνήστρα Mnḗstra ) is in Greek mythology a daughter of Danaos , the king of Libya , from an Ethiopian mother. She is therefore one of the Danaids .
At the mass wedding of the 50 daughters of Danaos with the 50 sons of Aigyptus , at which lot decided on the pairing, her Aigios , the son of a Phoenician mother, was assigned as her husband. Like all of her sisters with the exception of the Hypermestra , she killed her husband on their wedding night. Possibly it is identical to the Danaide Monuste handed down by Hyginus Mythographus .
