The Schöppinger Berg mobile radio tower is a 74 m high mobile radio tower , which is located almost 2 km northwest of the southeastern crest of the Schöppinger Berg and around 1.3 km northeast of the center of Schöppinger at 139.7 m above sea level. NN stands.
The cell phone tower has two special features, because it is not a standard construction, but looks like an upside-down "Y". What is even more remarkable about this tower, however, is that it is one of the few transmission towers for mobile communications with a viewing platform that is freely accessible via stairs. Three radio cells and directional radio links from Vodafone D2 in the direction of Rheine , Steinfurt (steel lattice mast on the Buchenberg between the districts of Borghorst and Burgsteinfurt) and Coesfeld are installed on the tower.
A wind turbine in the immediate vicinity also functions as a cellular base station and radio relay for the surrounding cities for the Telefonica cellular network .
