Mochovce (Hungarian Mohi ) is a village in Slovakia , since 1990 part of the municipality of Kalná nad Hronom , previously an independent municipality. Mochovce was first mentioned in writing as Muhy in 1295 and belonged to the Kingdom of Hungary in Bars County until 1918 . The village, which was predominantly inhabited by Hungarians , then became part of the newly formed Czechoslovakia , but became part of Hungary again between 1938 and 1945 due to the First Vienna Arbitration . Then it became part of Czechoslovakia again and in 1980 had 343 inhabitants. In the 1980s, the Mochovce nuclear power plant was built and the village was largely demolished.
