Modest Serra i Gonzàlez (born July 26, 1873 in Barcelona , † September 28, 1962 in Barcelona) was a Catalan composer, pianist and music teacher. As a piano student and teacher at the Conservatori del Liceu , Serra was part of the Catalan Pianist School just like his older brother Pere Serra i Gonzàlez .

Serra studied at the Conservatori del Liceu in Barcelona and graduated in piano in 1895. He had started teaching at the Liceu three years earlier. He later received the chair for piano and held it until the end of the 1950s. One of his numerous students was the composer and pianist Frederic Mompou . As a composer, Serra wrote numerous pieces for piano, choral works, symphonies, a fable and a few sardanas.
