Modou Lamin Badjie (civil servant)

Modou Lamin Badjie (* 20th century) is a civil servant in the West African state of Gambia . From August 2008 to August 2009 he was Director General of the Gambian Intelligence Agency , the National Intelligence Agency (NIA).

Life

Badjie served in the Gambia Armed Forces for several years and reached the rank of major.

As the successor to Benedict Jammeh , he was appointed General Director of the NIA in August 2008. With effect from August 10, 2009 Numo Kujabi was appointed to succeed Badjie. In November 2009, Badjie was summoned for interrogation and then detained in Mile 2 Central Prison. The media speculated that it was an investigation against the background of rumors of an attempted coup against the government of Yahya Jammeh .
