Mohamed Emara (actually Mohamed Omara ; born June 10, 1974 in Ad-Daqahliyya ) is a former Egyptian football player .

Emara played for the Egyptian club Ghazl Al-Mehalla until 1996 . He then moved to al Ahly Cairo and won the Egyptian championship with them in the 1997/98 season. In the following winter break he moved to the Bundesliga for FC Hansa Rostock for a million marks . He was next to Radwan Yasser the second Egyptian in the Rostock squad. Emara stayed with the Hanseatic League for four years and played a total of 76 Bundesliga games. He failed to score. He made his Bundesliga debut on matchday 19 of the 1998/99 season at the away game in Wolfsburg .
In the German Cup Emara ran a total of three times.
In the summer of 2002 Emara left FC Hansa and moved back to al Ahly Cairo together with his compatriot Yasser . With Al-Ahly he won the Egyptian Cup and the Egyptian Supercup in the first season. In the 2004/05 season Emara played for league rivals al-Masry .
National team
Emara played a total of 47 times for the Egyptian national soccer team . He scored seven goals. He gave his international premiere on April 22, 1995 against Tanzania .
He participated in the African Championships in 1998 , 2000 and 2002 . In 1998 he won the title with Egypt, was on the field in five of the six games and was only absent from the first group game. Two years later he played all four games for Egypt and retired with the team in the quarter-finals against Tunisia . In 2002 he finally completed four games for the Egyptian selection, which failed in the quarter-finals to Cameroon .
