Mohammad Ali Khan
Mohammad Ali Khan Zand (* approx. 1760 ; † 1779 , Persian محمدعلیخان زند, DMG Muḥammad-ʿAlī-Ḫān Zand ) was the second Shah of the Zand dynasty , who ruled the Persian Empire from March 6 to June 19, 1779.
When Karim Khan died in 1779, power struggles broke out again in Persia. His half-brother Zaki Khan declared Mohammad Ali, the second son of Karim Khan - also his son-in-law - to be the second ruler of the Zand dynasty. Soon after, Abol Fath Khan , the older brother, was named co-ruler.
In the same year Mohammed Ali Khan died of a heart attack. In the almost 4 months of his reign he achieved very little and could not build on the successes of his father. His brother was declared sole ruler of the Persian Empire on June 19, 1779.
