Lotf Ali Khan ( Persian لطفعلى خان زند; * approx. 1769 in Shiraz ; † 1794 in Tehran ) was the last Shah of Persia from the Zand dynasty . He ruled from May 10, 1789 to October 30, 1794.

The son of Jafar Khan was appointed Shah after the death of his father in 1789. In 1792 he was confronted with an uprising by the Aga Mohammed Khan of the Qajar dynasty . Lotf Ali Khan fought against him with his small army, but then fled to Shiraz and locked himself up there.

Lotf Ali Khan lost Shiraz when his chancellor Ibrahim Khan Kalantar betrayed him and opened the city gates to the enemy. Lotf Ali Khan failed to seize the city of Shahr-i Babak from Aga Mohammed Khan and moved against the city of Kerman .

In 1793 he defeated the Qajars and in 1794 conquered Kerman. But he was soon besieged by Aga Mohammad Khan for six months in Kerman. When the city fell to Aga Mohammad Khan, all male residents were killed or blinded for their support for Lotf Ali Khan and a pile of 20,000 eyeballs were erected in front of the victorious Aga Muhammad Khan. The women and children were sold into slavery and the city was destroyed over ninety days.

Lotf Ali Khan managed to escape first, but was betrayed again and captured near Bam . He was personally blinded by Aga Mohammad Khan and sent to a prison in Tehran , where he was tortured to death by cutting off his testicles and thrusting a spear through his heart. His grave is in Emamzadeh Zeid near Tehran's old market. His portrait can be found in the Museum of Fine Arts in Sadabad Palace.
