Mohammad Bagher Schafti
Mohammad Bagher Schafti ( Persian محمد باقر شفتی[ mohæmmæd bɑqɛɾ ʃæfti ]; * 1761 in Tscharse ; † March 22, 1844 in Isfahan ), also known as Rashti and Bidabadi , was a Persian Shiite clergyman. The Seyyed Mosque in Isfahan was built by him.
Life
According to Hossein Nasr and Hamid Dabashi , he is believed to be the first clergyman to be awarded the title of Hodschatoleslam (Proof of Islam). The reason for the title was his dual role as judge and mufti and his book on the fulfillment of Sharia law .
