Mohammad Forouzandeh ( Persian محمد فروزنده; * January 1, 1960 in Tehran , Iran ) is an Iranian politician, former military commander of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard (IRGC) and former defense minister. From 2007 to 2012 he was a member of the arbitration council .

He is the head of the Islamic Revolution Foundation ( Persian بنیاد مستضعفان انقلاب اسلامی, Formerly Foundation of the Oppressed and War Veterans), the second largest retail company in Iran (after the state-owned National Iranian Oil Company ) and the largest holding company in the Middle East (Middle East).

The Iranian news agencies ISNA and Mehr reported that von Rouhani would be nominated as chairman of the Supreme National Security Council .
