Mohegan State Forest is a state forest in the US state of Connecticut in the area of the parishes of Scotland and Sprague .
geography
The forest consists of two parcels with the greater part in the area of the parish of Scotland. The land was bequeathed to the state with the stipulation that forestry be carried out as a model. The Waldo Brook drains west to the Shetucket River , while on the east side of the Smith Brook flows into the Little River , which, however, after a few reservoirs also flows into the Shetucket River. Originally 300 acres (121 ha), the forest has now grown to 956 acres (387 ha).
free time activities
The forest is not developed for leisure activities. Nevertheless, it is a worthwhile destination for hiking. In addition, pheasants are released for hunting and private individuals are allowed to harvest firewood with a permit.
