Mojtaba Ferdosipour

Mojtaba Ferdosipour ( Persian مجتبی فردوسی‌پور; * 1966 ) is an Iranian diplomat who has been ambassador to Amman since June 22, 2014 .

He is married and has three children. He has a Bachelor of Sharia , Master of Political Science and Master of International Relations and speaks Arabic and English.

Career

In 1989 he joined the foreign service. From 1989 to 1997 he was employed in the Political and International Studies department. From 1997 to 2000 he was ambassador to Kuwait City . From 2000 to 2004 he headed the Persian Gulf and Middle East Department at the Institute for Political and International Studies (IPIS) ( Persian دفتر مطالعات سیاسی و بین المللی) which is affiliated with the Iranian Foreign Ministry. From 2004 to 2006 he was accredited at the Iranian Embassy in Amman. From 2006 to 2008 he was ambassador to Beirut . From 2008 to 2010 he was Deputy Foreign Minister for the Middle East and North Africa (see US Deputy foreign secretary). From 2010 to 2014 he headed the Middle East and North Africa department .

Scientific journalistic activity

He lectures at Iranian universities, publishes the newspaper of the Iranian Foreign Ministry, conducts anthologies on political topics, regional studies and the Islamic world, publishes articles in publications of the Iranian Foreign Ministry and research institutes on issues relating to the region.
