Joseph Molitor von Mühlfeld

Baron Joseph von Molitor von Mühlfeld (born July 21, 1855 at Westheim Palace near Augsburg , † June 24, 1890 in Munich ) was a German painter.

Life

Not much is known about his life. He came from a southern German family of officers and civil servants and was the youngest son of the royal Bavarian major and chamberlain Ernst Franz Freiherr Molitor von Mühlfeld (1808–1888) and his wife Caroline (1812–1870), née. of white. He grew up on the Schlossgut Westheim, a former diocese of the Diocese of Augsburg , which his father had acquired from his father-in-law von Weiß.

From 1873 studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich and was a student of Wilhelm von Lindenschmit . Contemporaries he was considered a beautiful talent , which with just as decided talent as hard work ... aroused great expectations, but then got into extreme naturalism and plein-air painting .

Until his untimely death he mainly created genre scenes .

He was buried in a family grave in the Northern Cemetery in Munich.
