Mona West

Mona West (born October 2, 1955 ) is an American theologian and pastor. She was ordained a pastor in a Southern Baptist Convention congregation in 1987 .

Academic career

In 1987 she received her Ph. D. in the subject area of ​​Old Testament from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville , Kentucky, and taught from 1987 to 1992 at faculties of various colleges and universities.

West joined the Metropolitan Community Church in 1992 . From 2001 to 2004 she was a member of the National Advisory Board for the Center for Lesbian and Gay Studies in Religion and Ministry at the Pacific School of Religion in Berkeley, California. In 2002 West successfully completed a spiritual formation certification program at Columbia Seminary in Atlanta, Georgia.
