grammar

items

The definite article is le and the indefinite article is un . Both are immutable. As a neutral article lo is used: lo bel "the beautiful".

Nouns

The nouns are basically masculine , but can express the feminine gender by adding -a . actor vs. actora (actress).

The plural of the nouns end in -s if they end in a vowel and -es if they end in a consonant . Le casa (the house) - le casas (the houses).

The genitive is expressed with the preposition de (von) and merges before the definite article le to del . Le casa del patre (the father's house).

The dative case is expressed with the preposition a (to, after) and merges with the definite article to form al .

Verbs

The infinitive of verbs is denominated in -ar . Only the auxiliary verb "sein" is an exception with ser . amar (love), vidar (see), venar (come).

The present tense ends in -a and the verbs are generally not conjugated . Yo ama (I love), el vida (she sees), vu vena (you come).

The past tense is formed with -avi . Yo amavi (I loved), el vidavi (she saw), vu venavi (you came).

The future tense is formed by -ara . Yo amara (I will love), el vidara (I will see), vu venara (you are coming).

The conditional is formed by -aria . Yo amaria (you would love), el vidaria (she would see), vu venaria (you would come).

adjectives and adverbs

The adjectives do not have a special ending and are immutable. They can come before or after the noun . If they are placed after them, this is used to emphasize them.

The increase occurs in the comparative with plu (more) or men (less) and in the superlative with mas (most) and min (least).

The adverbs are derived from the adjective with -mente . The increase is the same as with the adjectives.
