Mongla ( Bengali : মংলা , Maṃlā , formerly Chelna ) is a city in the south of Bangladesh in the Bagerhat district and the inland shipping port of the city of Khulna . It has 67,100 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2004) and is located on a branch of the Ganges at the entrance to the Sundarbans .
