Mónica Lozano

Mónica Cecilia Lozano (born July 21, 1956 in Los Angeles ) is Chief Executive Officer and editor of La Opinión , the largest Spanish-language newspaper in the United States. She has been on the Board of Directors of the Walt Disney Company since 2000 and is on the Board of Directors of the University of California .

Life

The La Opinion newspaper was founded by the Mónica Lozano family. Lozano holds a degree in Political Science from the University of Oregon and an honorary degree from Occidental College . Since January 2004 she has been the editor and Chief Executive Officer of La Opinión . Under the direction of Mónica Lozano, the circulation and sales of La Opinion increased , and as Vice President of Lozano Communications, Inc. she is responsible for their entry into the radio and television business.

In 2016 she was elected a member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences .
