Monika Katharina Böss (born September 17, 1950 in Bingen-Büdesheim ) is a German author.

Life

After completing an administration apprenticeship, she studied mathematics and social sciences.

Since the 1990s, Böss has been publishing novels and short stories on a regular basis , many of which are based in Rheinhessen . Her literary work has received several awards. The novel Marvins Bräute received the Martha-Saalfeld-Förderpreis in 2003 , and twice she won the prize of the cultural foundation of the Mainz-Bingen district. There are also several awards at dialect competitions such as the Stockstadt Literature Days 2016.

In addition to her literary work, Böss is regularly involved in the organization of literary projects, including 2001, 2003 and 2008 at the annual Rhineland-Palatinate cultural summer . Also in 2003, 2009 and again in 2016 she was one of the planners of the Rhineland-Palatinate Literature Days in Ludwigshafen, Bingen and Worms. From 1995 to 2009 she also headed the Wachtenburg literature group in Wachenheim an der Weinstrasse .

Böss has been a member of the State of Rhineland-Palatinate Media Council since November 2017

She lives in Mörsfeld .
