The Gollenstein Verlag was a nationally active publisher based in Saarbrücken .

history

The publishing house was founded in 1993 by Alfred Diwersy and the brothers Peter and Werner Jung in Blieskastel . The aim was to promote local authors from the greater region ( Saarland , Rhineland-Palatinate , Lorraine , Luxembourg , Wallonia ). After the Jung brothers left, Brigitte Gode became managing partner of the publishing house alongside Alfred Diwersy. In 2007 a new partner took her place. The move to Merzig took place .

In 2013, the publishing business was taken over by the Saarbrücken media service provider OEM, where it formed the company's own book brand. Since then the publishing house has been led by Oliver Elm . In August 2013, under the patronage of the Saarland Minister for Education and Culture Ulrich Commerçon, the campaign “Buy from your local bookseller!” Began with the aim of supporting the local bookstores.

Publishing activities ceased on December 31, 2016.

Part of the publishing program will be continued under the name Gollenstein Classics.

Program and authors (selection)

The program comprised around 450 titles (as of 2013). The focus was on a wide range from the areas of fiction , poetry and non-fiction . Not only authors from the Greater Region are represented. In the series “Tracks”, “Profiles” and Abitur speeches , texts by national authors have also appeared (such as Herta Müller , Nikolaus Schneider , Alfred Döblin , Thomas Hürlimann , Joseph Roth ). The program included James Matthew Barrie and Walter Scott as well as the book for Jochen Alexander Freydank's film Toy Land .

In addition to print products were e-books , audio books and online services for the program .
