Manuel Claus Achim Andrack (born June 23, 1965 in Cologne ) is a German editor , moderator and author . He became known to the television audience through his 13 years of collaboration with Harald Schmidt as his editor-in-chief .

Life

Manuel Andrack grew up in Cologne. After attending the Friedrich-Wilhelm-Gymnasium , he studied theater, film and television studies , German studies and art history at the University of Cologne and completed his studies with a Magister Artium .

He initially worked as an editor for the television production company CAT Entertainment for RTL ( family duel ) and SAT.1 ( go all out! ) . In 1995 he started as the responsible editor of the Harald Schmidt Show . From August 30, 2000 (episode 797), he was also present on the stage as an editor in the studio , where he became known nationwide as a sidekick for Harald Schmidt . Before that, Harald Schmidt had a fictional invisible friend named Horst with whom he spoke during the show. After this recurring element wore out, Andrack became a visible part of the show and contact person for gags on stage. As a sidekick, he brought more communication and dialogue to the show, following the American model. This role he shared later with bandleader Helmut Zerlett and prompter or Assistant Suzana Novinščak.

After leaving the Harald Schmidt Show at the end of December 2003, Harald Schmidt signed him as chief dramaturge , including for his cabaret program , from July 2004 to June 2005. He is the godfather of the Neanderlandsteig , a circular hiking trail in the Niederbergisches Land , opened in 2013 , about which he also wrote a hiking guide.

After the redesign of the show in 2007, Manuel Andrack no longer took a seat with Harald Schmidt in the studio. Instead, Oliver Pocher was hired as a second moderator who was equivalent to Schmidt. Andrack initially remained editor-in-chief until 2008, when the cooperation was ended by mutual agreement.

Andrack has been writing columns and reports about hiking for several years. These appear, for example, in the Stern , in the Zeit and in the hiking magazine . From 2008 to 2009 Andrack was an advertising medium for the Naturefriends Houses .

In addition to Stefan Mocker , Andrack played the role of a weapons dealer for the streaming series Patchwork Gangsta produced by the SWR for the funk media service .
