Monika Gänßbauer

Monika Gänßbauer (* 1968 ) is a German sinologist .

Life

She studied Sinology, Japanology and Political Science in Erlangen , Bochum and Beijing . From 1990 to 1992 she had a DAAD scholarship at Renmin University . From 1993 to 1996 she was a student assistant , then a research assistant at the Institute for Chinese Language and Literature at the University of Bochum . After completing her doctorate in 1996 at the University of Bochum, she was a lecturer at the University of Hamburg . After her habilitation in Sinology in 2008 at the University of Erlangen , she was visiting professor at the Institute for Chinese Studies at the University of Erlangen from 2009 to 2015 . Since 2016 she has been teaching as an associate professor at the Institute for Chinese Studies in Erlangen. She has been Associate Professor of Chinese at Stockholm University since 2017 .
