Monika Geier

Monika Geier (born April 17, 1970 in Ludwigshafen am Rhein ) is a German crime writer.

Life

After graduating from high school, Monika Geier trained as a draftsman and then studied architecture at the University of Kaiserslautern . She initially practiced her writing alongside her work as a graduate engineer , but then gave up the profession in favor of writing and the family. The mother of three children has been living as a freelance writer in Thaleischweiler-Fröschen since 2009 .

In her first novel from 1999 " How can you sleep " she created the superintendent Bettina Boll as the heroine. In the next few years, four more detective novels followed, each of which is based in the Palatinate . The distinctive characters that populate her novels are remarkable.

In 2000 she received the Marlowe detective award from the German Raymond Chandler Society for her debut novel .
