Monika Hornig-Sutter

Monika Hornig-Sutter (born January 16, 1943 in Geretsried ) is a German politician ( SPD ).

Life

Hornig-Sutter attended school in Geretsried and Bad Tölz . After finishing school, she studied art history, archeology and ancient history in Munich , where she completed her doctorate in 1968. She then worked as a research assistant on a research project on baroque ceiling painting in Germany and was involved in setting up and running a research institute for ceramics . In 1974 she became a state-recognized expert for ceramics, the following year she started working as a freelance expert in the field of ceramics and in ceramic research.

Hornig-Sutter joined the SPD in 1972. She belonged to the district committee of Munich-Obermenzing . From 1978 to 1982 she was a member of the Bavarian State Parliament . In 1982, the mother of four children sued against a clause in Article 131 of the Constitution of the Free State of Bavaria .
