Aloe forbesii is a species of aloes in the subfamily of the Affodilla family (Asphodeloideae). The specific epithet forbesii honors the Scottish naturalist and collector Henry Ogg Forbes .

Vegetative characteristics
Aloe forbesii grows without a stem or with a short stem, is simple or forms small groups. The 16 to 20 lanceolate, pointed leaves form dense rosettes . The cloudy green leaf blade is 25 inches long and 6 to 7 inches wide. The white teeth on the leaf margin are 0.5 to 1 millimeter long and 4 to 8 millimeters apart.
Inflorescences and flowers
The inflorescence consists of five or more branches and reaches a length of 60 to 80 centimeters. The loose, cylindrical grapes are 10 to 25 inches long and 5 inches wide. The bracts have a length of 3 to 4 millimeters and are 1.5 millimeters wide. The flowers are light scarlet red in the lower third and yellowish above. They stand on 10 to 12 millimeter long flower stalks . The flowers are 22 to 24 millimeters long and narrowed briefly at their base. Above the ovary , the flowers are narrowed and then widened towards the mouth. Your outer tepals are not fused together over a length of about 6 to 7 millimeters. The stamens and the pen stand 2 millimeters out from the flower.
