Monika Kruger
Monika Krüger (born November 16, 1947 in Berlin ) is a German veterinarian .
From 1966 to 1971, Krüger studied veterinary medicine at the Humboldt University in Berlin . After graduating ( state examination and diploma ), she completed her compulsory assistant at the State Veterinary Medical Examination Institute of the GDR in Berlin and received her license to practice medicine in 1972 .
Krüger then did research as a research assistant at the Institute for Applied Animal Hygiene in Eberswalde , and from 1974 in Vietnam . In 1976 she returned to Germany and in 1977 became a research assistant at the Institute for Microbiology and Animal Disease Studies at the HU Berlin, later a senior assistant .
In 1993 she accepted a professorship at Leipzig University , where she headed the Institute for Bacteriology and Mycology until her retirement . Krüger researched the effects of glyphosate on mammals and poultry and advocated a ban on the herbicide.
