Monique Boulestin
Monique Boulestin (born March 13, 1951 in Châlus , Haute-Vienne department ) is a French politician of the Parti socialiste .
biography
Boulestin completed a humanities degree at the University of Limoges with very good results and initially continued to work at the university.
She has been a member of Limoges City Council since 1996 . Since 2002 she has been an alderman with responsibility for education and new technologies. Since then she has been in close contact with the Bibliothèque francophone multimédia de Limoges and oversees the Lire à Limoges reading week, which takes place every spring, as well as the Festival des Francophonies en Limousin, which takes place every autumn . Since the local elections on March 29, 2008, Boulestin has been the first alderman of Alain Rodet , the mayor of Limoges. Her responsibilities include education and liaison with the University of Limoges. After the loss of the vote against her inner-party competitor Catherine Beaubatie for the mandate in the third constituency of the Haute-Vienne department for the 2012 election, she announced on December 2, 2011 her retirement from the Limoges city council. However, she did not rule out another candidacy at a later date.
From March 28, 2004 to June 29, 2007 she was Vice President of the Regional Council for the Limousin . From her university experience, as Vice President of the Regional Council, she campaigned for the preferred expansion of high-speed Internet connections for the rural communities in the Limousin. This should promote both economic development and the education of young people.
She was elected to the French National Assembly on June 17, 2007 for the 13th legislative period (2007-2012) on June 25, 2007 as a member of the Parti socialiste in the first constituency of the Haute-Vienne department . She was able to clearly beat the previous MP Alain Marsaud of the UMP with 53.09% to 46.91%.
In the National Assembly she is a member of the Committee on European Affairs and the Committee on Culture and Education. In addition, she belongs to other working groups.
