Monique Gladding (born June 17, 1981 in Durban , South Africa ) is a British water diver . She starts for the City of Sheffield club in the disciplines of 10 m tower and synchronized jumping. In dubbing competitions, she jumps alongside Megan Sylvester . She is trained by her husband Steve Gladding.

At the 2009 World Championships in Rome , Sylvester was sixth in the 10 m synchronized jumping. At European Swimming Championships she has been participating of 2006. In synchronized jumping she was sixth in Budapest in 2006 , fourth in Eindhoven in 2008 and third again in Budapest in 2010 . It was her first international medal. In 2010 she was also seventh in the individual on the 10 m tower.

In 2006 and 2010 Gladding took part in the Commonwealth Games . She has won five titles at British Championships so far.

In March 2011 Gladding had a serious accident at the World Cup in Penza , Russia . After jumping, she hit the platform with her head and fell unconscious into the water. Several British and Russian supervisors fought for Gladding's life on the edge of the pool. She suffered an open wound on her head. After a few days in the hospital, Gladding was able to fly home, according to the circumstances.
