The mono just before the mouth

The Mono (formerly also Monu ) is a river in Togo.

At 467 km it is the longest river in Togo , but only about 50 km are navigable. It rises in Benin near the Togolese border and flows south from there. Towards the end of its course, the Mono forms the border between Togo and Benin and flows into the Bay of Benin and thus into the Atlantic Ocean .

Reservoirs

About 160 km north of its mouth, the Mono is dammed by the Nangbeto Dam .
