A monoforium (plural: monoforiums) is a single opening (Latin foramen , it. Foro = opening ), a hatch in a wall, a special narrow and high type of window.

It is a terminus technicus that denotes a special type of window in architecture, a "simple" opening in the wall in contrast to the biforias and triforias divided by pillars or columns , especially in the epochs from Romanesque , Gothic and Renaissance to Eclecticism .
