The Mons Vitruvius is a mountain on the moon in the Montes Taurus region , north of the Mare Tranquillitatis and southeast of the Mare Serenitatis . This massif has a diameter of about 45 km. It rises to a height of about 2.3 km in the northeast.

The name of the mountain was derived from the Vitruvius crater , which is located south-southeast and is named after Marcus Vitruvius Pollio .

The Apollo 17 landing site is immediately north, between Mons Vitruvius and the Littrow crater .
