The Monschauer Landstrasse in Düren , North Rhine-Westphalia , is a historic main thoroughfare.

The Monschauer Landstrasse begins out of town in the Düren district of Rölsdorf at the intersection of Bahnstrasse / Monschauer Strasse / Lendersdorfer Strasse . It is classified as federal highway 399 , touches the southern outskirts of Birgel and ends at the city limits of Gey . The B 399 continues into the northern Eifel to Monschau .

history

In 1779 the construction of the connecting road Düren-Monschau was decided and completed in 1782. On June 5, 1792, this route received the first postal connection, and on November 16, 1852 a four-horse and four-seat passenger post was set up.

On February 15, 1945, American troops entered Düren via Monschauer Landstrasse, Monschauer Strasse, Johannesbrücke and Aachener Strasse .
