The Montanhydraulik Stadium is a football stadium with an athletics facility in the North Rhine-Westphalian municipality of Holzwickede , in the Unna district . In 2007, the naming rights to the former Emscherstadion were sold to the Holzwickede-based company Montanhydraulik GmbH . The contract has a ten-year term until June 30, 2017.

The stadium with a covered main grandstand (800 seats) has a capacity of around 5,000 spectators. Until 2015 it was the home ground of SV Holzwickede , the German amateur champion from 1976. On July 1, 2015, the club merged with SG Holzwickede to form the new club Holzwickeder SC . In addition to the actual venue with a floodlight system on eight masts, there is also an adjacent lawn area and a small artificial turf area. The sports center at the Montanhydraulik Stadium is connected to the stadium.

The stadium is used for test matches by surrounding clubs such as Borussia Dortmund , SG Wattenscheid 09 , Sportfreunde Siegen and foreign teams. On March 25, 1999, the DFB hosted a friendly international game for women between Germany and China (0: 3) in the Emscherstadion . The Borussia Dortmund II team uses the Montanhydraulik Stadium, next to the Rote Erde Stadium, which opened in 1926 , as an alternative stadium for home games. Borussia Dortmund's U19s play the UEFA Youth League ( 2014/15 and 2016/17 ) in the stadium .
