Monte Parodi

The Monte Parodi rises 673 meters above sea level in the northwestern section of the Gulf of La Spezia , in the northern Italian region of Liguria .

The mountain descends towards the south with hill-shaped foothills at Porto Venere to the Ligurian Sea and separates the urban area of La Spezia from the territory of the Cinque Terre National Park . It is connected to the latter via a hiking trail.

Monte Parodi has always been a popular destination for the residents of La Spezia, who seek refuge from the heat of the city on its slopes. In the summer months of July and August, the temperature on the mountain is always six to seven degrees below that of the sea. In addition, from Monte Parodi you can access the Ligurian High Trail and the hiking and walking trails of the Cinque Terre. Since it is the highest point in the gulf, two radio and television masts were installed on its summit , which supply the provincial capital and the neighboring communities.
