The Monte Penna is a mountain in the Ligurian Apennines , within the Aveto Nature Park , and with its 1,735 meters height is one of the highest peaks in the region.

Together with Monte Pennino , it is shown on the coat of arms of the nature park. Its northern slopes are relatively steep and made up of bare basalt rock . In contrast, the lush vegetation makes the southern slopes appear softer and more inviting.

From the top of the mountain there is a panorama over the Ligurian Sea and the mountain peaks and valleys of the western Alps . Because of its exposed location, the Ligurians considered it the seat of the Celtic deity Penn, which is where its name comes from.
