Montoie / Bourdonnette is a district of the Swiss city of Lausanne . It is located in the southwestern part of the city.

The district itself is in turn divided into six quarters . These are Montoie, Vallée de la Jeunesse, Pyramides, Prés-de-Vidy, Bourget and Bourdonnette. In 2018, around 7955 inhabitants lived in an area of 1.742 km² .

location

Since the district is somewhat remote in the southwest of the city, the area is considered to be rather quiet. In the Maladière area, roughly in the middle of the district by the lake, there are several football fields, but they are not used for professional matches in the upper leagues. A motorway and several roads run into the “Grande Pont de la Maladière”, a huge roundabout . There is a larger campsite by the lake. The Vallée de la Jeunesse also got its name from the fact that many students from the nearby École polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne live here.

Public transportation

Bus lines 1, 6 and 25 of the Transports publics de la région Lausannoise cross the district. The Métro Lausanne (route M1) also runs through the area and has a stop (Bourdonnette).

Buildings and sights

A Roman settlement has been discovered in Vidy through archaeological excavations. This is freely accessible. The International Olympic Committee also has its headquarters directly on the lake.
