Monument Harbor is a natural harbor on the sub-Antarctic Campbell Island in the southern Pacific Ocean . The island is one of the offshore islands of New Zealand .

geography

The Monument Harbor is located on the south side of Campbell Iceland and extends 1.5 km into the island. The entrance to the natural harbor extends over a width of around 1000 m, while the width of the water inland is a maximum of 1.24 km. The coastline measures around 4.4 km in length.

The mountains surrounding Monument Harbor rise to a height of 416  m . The only tributary to the natural harbor is Six Foot Lake , which joins the Monument Stream around 100 m north . The 940 m long and up to 500 m wide lake is fed by the 3.2 km long Kirk Stream , which rises on the southeast flank of the 500  m high Mount Durmas .
