The Monument Rocks (English for Monument Rocks ) are a group of cliff rocks in front of the Davis Coast of Graham Lands on the Antarctic Peninsula . They are 6 km northeast of Cape Sterneck in Curtiss Bay .
They were roughly mapped and descriptively named by James Hoseason , First Mate of the Sprightley under Captain Edward Hughes, who operated in these waters between 1824 and 1825 on behalf of the British whaling company Samuel Enderby & Sons .
