Nitzan Layla "Moon" Shavit ( Hebrew מון שביט, Born May 30, 1987 in Haifa ) is an Israeli actress and model .

life and career

Shavit was born as Nitzan Layla Man. Deviating spellings of her first name are Nitzan-Layla, Nitsan Laila or Mun instead of Moon. The nickname Moon came from her circle of friends, Moon Shavit means moon comet. Shavit grew up in Haifa and started doing gymnastics and dancing in her youth. She attended high school in Tel Aviv-Jaffa , where she came into contact with the film industry through a friend who arranged for her to audition for a commercial . She has been married to Adan Shavit since 2011, their daughter is called Petal.

In the following years, in addition to working as a model, she had a number of smaller roles in Israeli TV series. Since 2013 she has received greater international attention through the role of Estee (Esti) Gotlieb in the Israeli TV series Shtisel . Her current film Don't Forget Me did not succeed at the Ophir Awards 2017 . In 2018 she was honored with a prize as best actress (Premio Miglior attrice) at the 35th Torino Film Festival for her role as Tom in this film drama, on which she is also a co-author.

It is represented in Israel by the ADD agency and in Hollywood by MGMT. Entertainment . Since 2019 she has been preparing a stay in the USA . The current project in planning is the production of a TV series about the affair of the kidnapping of children of Yemeni Israel immigrants in the 1950s (פרשת ילדי תימן, Yemenite Children Affair).
